What is a Regenerative Medicine Facelift?
As we age, drooping skin, deflated facial tissue and loss of volume in the cheeks, jawline and under the eyes creates facial shadows, sagginess, fine lines, and wrinkles that could add years to your appearance.
While traditional facelifts involve extensive surgery, discomfort and a long recovery time, the Regenerative Medicine Facelift is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedure that is minimally invasive, relatively painless and requires no downtime. This state-of-the-art treatment embodies the newest, most advanced technologies in the cosmetic field.
Why Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative Medicine contains biological compounds that improve skin quality by repairing photo damaged skin and increasing elasticity. A “Regenerative Medicine Facelift” involves the harvest, preparation, and injection of cytokines, growth factors, proteins, mesenchymal stem cells, and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) into the patient’s face to replenish and rejuvenate the skin.
At La Jolla Cosmetic Laser Clinic, we use only regenerative medicine that is FDA-compliant and sourced from the rich Wharton’s Jelly layer of the umbilical cord along with amniotic fluid and tissue from healthy, full-term donors.
The Regenerative Medicine Facelift Procedure
For this treatment, the provider draws a sample of blood from the patient to create platelet-rich plasma. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge where the blood platelets, white blood cells and plasma are separated from the red blood cells. Once the red blood cells are removed, what remains is platelet-rich plasm, which is rich in healing properties and growth factors. The patient’s PRP is added to the biological compounds containing cytokines, growth factors, proteins, and mesenchymal stem cells. This incredibly rich healing serum is then injected with a tiny needle into the face across the area of concern.
Most patients experience mild swelling and redness in the skin right after treatment, but are back to normal within a few days. When fully restored, the skin will show dramatic improvements in quality and facial contour. Improvements will continue for the next few months and stabilize at approximately 6 to 8 months after the procedure, with an ongoing improvement in the quality and texture of the skin for about 12 months.
Would I be a Good Candidate?
The Regenerative Medicine Facelift is ideal for patients who are seeking non-surgical facial rejuvenation while wanting to appear younger and more rejuvenated. This procedure is most effective for those with moderate facial aging and those who prefer a non-surgical approach to skin rejuvenation.
With a Regenerative Medicine Facelift, you can expect to see youthful contours and a marked improvement in skin quality, tightness, and color irregularities that are caused by aging, genetics, and exposure to the sun and environment.
