What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
As women pass through childbearing, menopause, and aging there are inevitable changes that occur to a woman’s vagina. This can include vaginal laxity, stress urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness, less sensation, and even discomfort during sex.
Vaginal rejuvenation procedures such as ThermiVa, FemTouch, and Erbium Laser use radiofrequency and laser energy to restore and reconstruct the vaginal tissue. This heat technology encourages the tissue to contract and produce new collagen. Collagen firms and rejuvenates the skin across the body, including the vaginal walls.
What is ThermiVa?
ThermiVa is a non-surgical, non-invasive, safe treatment that uses radiofrequency heat to tighten the vaginal canal, labia majora and reduces urinary incontinence, improves atrophy, increases sensitivity and treats mild prolapse. ThermiVa uses a slim want to gently heat the vaginal canal and labia temperature which contracts the tissue and stimulates new collagen. There is no hospital stay, no sutures, no cutting, no ablating, no discomfort and no downtime.
How Does ThermiVa Work?
ThermiVa delivers carefully controlled radiofrequency energy from a marginally curvy device to gently heat external and internal vaginal tissue. As vaginal tissue is heated, your body’s production of collagen–the main structural protein found in the skin– will be stimulated, causing vaginal tissue to soften and tighten. Many women who have been rejuvenated through ThermiVa have felt comfortable during their treatment and were very satisfied with their results.
Who is a Good Candidate for Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Aging results in a natural hormone loss which effects the vaginal tissue. Hormone loss can result in decreased blood flow, decreased elasticity, and decreased secretion of fluids during sexual activity. Anyone experiencing normal hormone loss, stress urinary incontinence, or who has had a natural childbirth, or anyone who is dissatisfied with the appearance of their labia minor and majora.
Vaginal Rejuvenation through ThermiVa can improve:
- Vaginal dryness
- Vaginal and vulvar laxity
- Orgasmic dysfunction
- Stress incontinence

What Can I Expect From Vaginal Rejuvenation treatment?
During the procedure, a single use wand that is thin about the size of a finger is inserted into the vagina. The wand is slowly withdrawn as the targeted temperature of the tissue is reached. Most patients report a warm sensation that is tolerable. Patients have three treatments, each about a month apart. There is no post care or restrictions and patients are able to resume their normal schedules. Most patients notice improvements after their first treatment.
What Are The Benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation?
These laser treatments can improve vaginal laxity, return sensation, reverse vaginal atrophy, heighten the ability to achieve orgasm, improve lubrication, and decrease stress incontinence. These treatments are all done non-surgically and non-invasively without anesthesia.

Thermiva FAQs
What is a ThermiVa Treatment?
The ThermiVa treatment is a non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedure. Using gentle radiofrequency energy, ThermiVa tightens vaginal tissue and stimulates collagen production to help patients achieve enhanced tightness, sensation, lubrication and a reduction in urinary incontinence.
How Much is a ThermiVa Treatment?
The ThermiVa procedure is priced per treatment session. However, the full cost of treatment can vary depending on the number of treatment sessions necessary. Some patients may achieve improvements in a single treatment, while others may need multiple treatment sessions for optimal results.
How Fast Does ThermiVa Work?
While some patients may notice minor improvements immediately following treatment, the ThermiVa treatment can take about two weeks to begin producing significant results. These results will continue to improve for several weeks as collagen increases in the vaginal region.
Does ThermiVa Last?
The results from ThermiVa are permanent, but they cannot prevent future changes in the vagina due to aging and other natural causes. For these reasons, most patients choose to receive yearly ThermiVa treatments to help prolong their results.
Is ThermiVa Covered by Insurance?
ThermiVa is currently not covered by insurance providers. Fortunately, there are a variety of financing options available to patients who are seeking to make their ThermiVa treatment more affordable.
