As much as we wish it were possible, most of us will encounter a bit of difficulty maintaining the ultra-high standards of beauty our society has placed on us. In our part of the country, there is as much beauty walking through the village as there is to be admired on the shores. The pressure to look good doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. At La Jolla Cosmetic Laser Clinic, we specialize in helping men and women all across the San Diego area address concerns as quickly and efficiently as possible. TightSculpting is just one of several ways that our clients are refining their shape, and one that deserves some praise.
What is TightSculpting?
TightSculpting is an FDA-cleared, dual wavelength laser device developed for fat-reduction and skin tightening. The process can involve just one step or two, depending on the desired outcome.
The first step of treatment involves PIANO pulse mode Nd:YAG laser at a wavelength of 1064 nm. This wavelength causes thermal activity within subcutaneous tissue, the area in which adipocytes thrive. During this phase of treatment, laser energy passes through the uppermost layers of tissue while a built-in cooling mechanism controls surface heat. Energy is absorbed in the deeper layers of tissue, bulk-heating adipose (fat) cells to a degree at which they are damaged. A secondary effect of this heating is an increase in collagen and elastin production.
The second step of TightSculpting treatment involves Er:YAG SMOOTH® mode, a non-ablative laser procedure that heats superficial tissue in a controlled manner to further stimulate collagen remodeling. This step of the process doesn’t just encourage collagen production, it dismantles the frayed structure of existing collagen and tightens the fibers that support firm, soft skin.
Is TightSculpting Right for You?
Many of the clients who visit our La Jolla laser clinic are interested in non-surgical body contouring. One of the benefits available with TightSculpting that isn’t found with other techniques such as CoolSculpting is the skin-tightening aspect of treatment. Skin tightening with fat reduction is often sought to improve areas of the body including the neck and chin, back (bra fat), stomach, buttocks, backs of the arms, thighs, and knees. Other than slight redness or rash and a sunburned sensation, there are no side effects expected after a TightSculpting session.
It’s never too soon to get bathing suit ready. For more information on TightSculpting and other body contouring treatments, call 866.676.3242.
