What Can I Expect During My Lipoma Excision?

Your Lipoma Excision will be performed by our dermatologist and our team of medical professionals in our beautiful office. Before your excision begins, our dermatologist may apply a topical or local anesthetic to your treatment area. This is to ensure you remain comfortable throughout your treatment. Once numb, a small incision will carefully be made in your treatment area. Through this incision, your lipoma will be removed. The length of your excision will depend on the placement and size of your lipoma.

What Can I Expect After My Lipoma Excision?

Following your Lipoma Excision, our dermatologist may provide you with post-treatment care instructions. Excess drainage for one to two days following your procedure is normal and to be expected. We encourage patients to change their wound dressings often to prevent further infection. Patients may be asked to follow up with our dermatologist within a week or two of treatment.
