Are you tired of cellulite? If so, you are not alone. Approximately 90% of women experience the lumpy, dimpled skin appearance commonly known as cellulite. The widespread nature of this condition has led to the development of many bizarre treatments which claim to get rid of cellulite once and for all. But do any of them really work?
Here are some of the odder cellulite treatments on the market:
- Caffeine tights – These tights contain caffeine microcapsules which get released into your skin to increase your metabolic rate and burn fat. The manufacturer claims you can lose as much as 2 cm off your thighs and make your skin smoother by wearing them every day.
- Cellulite bike – This contraption looks like it came out of a sci-fi movie. You pedal a stationary bicycle encased inside a pod while infrared beams treat your cellulite regions. The infrared beams are supposed to penetrate your skin in order to warm and soften the cellulite. As a side benefit, all that pedaling on a stationary bike should get you in shape.
- VacuStep – Yet another sci-fi contraption! It is essentially a cross-trainer surrounded by a big vacuum tube. A rubber skirt is placed around your waist and then attached to the VacuStep machine in order to create a vacuum around your lower body which will free blocked fat cells.
- Fit flops – Yes, someone actually designed a set of flip flops which are intended to treat cellulite. They contain “patent-pending microwobbleboard technology” that tweaks your body’s balance in order to make your muscles work harder while you walk.
These methods are certainly creative, “out of the box” approaches to cellulite treatment, but it is unclear whether they actually accomplish their goals. Most likely, you will spend a lot of money and put forth a great deal of effort to still experience cellulite.
