How Allumera Works

Allumera™ is an exciting, effective new option to achieve a radiant and supple facial appearance with minimal downtime. It is a topical cream used with a special light source that really ups the ante and fights aging by reducing skin imperfections, such as fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles, crows feet and enlarged pores.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has routinely been used as a way to treat skin cancers as well as cosmetic skin issues, like sun damaged skin, rough scaly skin, dry patches, and aging skin. Allumera cream works similarly to PDT but may be a better treatment option for some people. Allumera is a gentler treatment less likely to result in redness, peeling and significant discomfort.

Allumera is first applied to the affected area and absorbed into the cells. When the product is taken into the diseased cells, it is transformed into a substance that can be activated by light. The treated area is then illuminated by an IPL or BLU-U light source that makes the diseased cells visible for diagnosis or destroys the cells.
