La Cuna

In La Jolla

By Nasrin Mani, M.D.

La Cuna, Spanish for “cradle,” was founded in 2003 as a non-profit foster family agency to address the needs of Latino children in foster care. The founders decided to place primary emphasis on the Latino population because there are major cultural and linguistic gaps in services to this special foster population. Over the years and due to the need, a new model of care has evolved and La Cuna now serves all children ages 0 to 5.
