Facelift treatment has existed for several years. Historically, facelifts have involved a surgical procedure that repositions the tissue that has fallen from its place across the bony contours of the face. Not anymore. Today, we have numerous techniques and technologies to address varying degrees of facial laxity. One that is popular among patients of our La Jolla laser clinic is the liquid facelift.
A liquid facelift is a technique that incorporates various injectable products, including neuromodulators like Dysport and soft tissue fillers like Restylane. Treatment reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, and surrounding the nose and mouth. As the use of fillers and neuromodulators has expanded, the liquid facelift has gained the capability to also correct downturned mouth corners, lip deflation, and jowls.
How the Liquid Facelift Works
There is more to a liquid lift than plumping and filling. This customized treatment protocol is intended to reestablish the youthful contours of the face. To accomplish this, we may use a variety of products. Generally speaking, Dysport is an excellent injectable for the upper part of the face. This neuromodulator blocks neurotransmitters in muscle from receiving data which makes them contract. The conservative use of this product decreases muscular contraction so the overlying skin can lie smoothly. It does not freeze muscles, though. You will still be able to show emotion through facial expression.
In combination with Dysport, dermal fillers like Restylane and Restylane Lyft are used to fill in lines that have resulted from the loss of collagen. Smile lines, for instance, can be softened and even eliminated when a hyaluronic acid filler is inserted beneath the skin. Fillers are also commonly used beneath the eyes to ease the transition from the lower cheek to the lower eyelid area, resulting in a refreshed appearance.
If you are troubled by multiple signs of aging, such as crow’s feet and jowls, now may be an excellent time to schedule a consultation for a non-surgical liquid lift. Our extensive training in the use of injectables is coupled with meticulous technique that accentuates your face in all the right places.
