The summer sun sure feels good, doesn’t it? But at summer’s end, will you be looking in the mirror and chastising yourself? Or later on be on the wrong end of a scalpel or laser to fight off skin cancer?
We’re not going to tell you NOT to enjoy your summer, but we are going to urge you to do so in a way that protects your skin and prevents unpleasant spots and blotches.
Rule 1 through 10 – Use a good sunscreen Everyday!
- 30 SPF
- Physical SunBlocks begin protecting instantly. Look for titanium and zinc oxide – the higher percentage the better
- Sunscreens take about 30 minutes to start working. So if you’re in a rush to get outside, use the sunblocks
- Swimming and sweating will remove most all sun protection after a while. Reapply and be liberal. There are many pleasing sun protection products that aren’t greasy or occlusive. Find what works well for you and stick with it.
Hats are always in – you’ll find a huge selection of very pretty sunhats for women just about anywhere you shop – get a wide brim hat, make it your signature and enjoy looking a little mysterious. Or order online – Zappos (the wonderful online shoe shop) has a terrific hat collection as does Coolibar, Physician Endorsed and others.
And get some good sunglasses with UV protection. Your vision is precious and worth the small amount UV rated sunglasses cost.
